Different Macclesfield based charities
Our Featured Charity
Name of Charity: Cre8
Mission Statement: Our work is aimed toward empowering young people and adults in the local area of the Moss Rose Estate in Macclesfield to make change happen for themselves and also for their local neighbourhood.
About us: Cre8 is a local charity which has been doing work and providing services for young people in Macclesfield for the last ten years. From very small beginnings, Cre8 has grown to be a significant part of the neighbourhood and now employs a number of full and part time staff, as well as volunteers, running a variety of projects and two businesses. We provide an innovative service to young people and their families which we hope supports and enables people to play a full and active role in their neighbourhood. In addition to being a provider of services, Cre8 is also a community with a spiritual dimension. Many of our employees and volunteers are involved in local churches in some way. Some also live and are part of the neighbourhood we work in, which we think is very important. We look to model community living, this sometimes includes attending and being part of Christian celebrations and other regular social activities such as ceilidhs, shared meals and festivals. These events are open to a wide network of our friends, supporters and neighbours. We have won some very prestigious awards including a “Rising Star” Award at the North West Charity Awards and the Queens Award for Voluntary Service. Not bad for a teeny tiny project from an Estate in Macclesfield.

Previously Focused Charities
Name of Charity: Hope in NE Cheshire
Mission statement: Thirty-nine churches working together in mission in our communities.
About us: Hope in North East Cheshire (Hope) encourages shared initiatives in mission and service and organises joint gatherings for worship and prayer. It also responds to requests for information, help and funding, working closely with many voluntary organisations and the statutory authorities. Incorporating Churches Together in Macclesfield and Bollington, and affiliated to Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, Hope was established in 2009 bringing together some thirty-nine Churches of many denominations in Macclesfield, Bollington and the surrounding villages. The Church Leaders meet regularly for prayer, worship, fellowship and discussion, while small groups of Leaders and lay people plan Hope’s priorities, review progress and relationships, and manage its finances. Hope involves lots of volunteers, many from local Churches, in a wide range of initiatives which any one Church would find difficult to sustain. It encourages like-minded people to come together to respond to their calling and to share their passions to make things happen for the benefit of the community.
