Magic Lanterns is a trail of eight beautiful and intriguing mini-projections hidden in the nooks and crannies of Macclesfield town centre. This event is free to attend but pre-booking is essential.
Discover the projections and watch as a host of enchanting dancing animals play in their magical winter habitats. Listen to a specially-composed soundtrack music via Soundcloud on your phones. Enjoy this perfect outdoor winter family treat.
The eight projection locations span the Town Hall (x2), Sparrow Park, St Michael’s church, Backwallgate, Mill Street, Chestergate and King Edward Street Chapel, forming an easily walkable trail around the centre of town.
Magic Lanterns has been created for LIT by Fabric Lenny, who was part of the team that brought us 2019’s Sir Gawain and the Green Knight in West Park, and artists Urban Projections, creators of some of the most awe-inspiring projection work in the UK today. Music will be created by musician Nick Lewis.
