Community Grants

Whether it is a local event for adults or children, providing support for people who might otherwise feel excluded or you simply have an idea to try which may grow into something bigger, take a look at our community grants on offer.

The town council recognises the value and importance of community groups and activities within the town.

Whether it is a local event for adults or children, providing support for people who might otherwise feel excluded or putting on a festival such as Barnaby, we want to help wherever we can.

We now have three levels of grant. Micro grants are up to £100 and are for small start up ideas for one off projects or for the start of a longer term idea. Small grants are up to £250 and large grants up to £2,000.

Grant applications are considered at the next appropriate and available Finance Committee as scheduled and decisions are made according to the council’s scheme of delegation.

If you would like to apply for a community grant but would like to have a chat about it first, please contact Assistant Town Clerk Helena Gowler on 07593 535 784 or by emailing [email protected]

If you would like some guidance on your application or would like to submit a draft to be looked at before submitting a final version, it is essential that you get in touch at least one month before the deadline.

Micro grant applications can be considered at any time. Small and large grant applications are considered at Finance Committee meetings and applicants are asked to attend to introduce their application and be able to answer any questions.

Deadlines for applications are below.

Deadline is 9am on Friday 11th October – Decision meeting held on Monday 11th November 2024
