Communications Officer (Town Centre Manager)

Abi has been with the Town Council since November 2020 and works closely with the Events Officer particularly on Town Centre events such as Late Night Shopping, Advent Window Trail and Macclesfield Bikeathon.

She is also responsible for the majority of communications put out by the Town Council on all formats including social media and print.  Another element of Abi’s role is as Town Centre Manager.  This involves working closely with shops, businesses and groups in the Town Centre, to support them and help where possible whilst also improving lines of communication.

“Working for Macclesfield Town Council is a dream come true.  I love my job, and the different people and groups it brings me into contact with.  Every day is different; I can be riding in the front of a cargo bike delivering daffodils one day, recording a council meeting the next, all while planning a Christmas switch on event for a few thousand people.   Macclesfield has a great sense of community at the moment and its great to be part of that.”
