Tytherington Ward

Planning Committee

Cllr David Edwardes

I’m David Edwardes, one of the two “Independent” Councillors for Tytherington Ward.

I returned with my family to my beloved Macclesfield in 2012 after many years abroad. Why come back to Macc? Well, I bought a terraced house in 1973 for 500 quid and just adored the town. I started a curtain business on Chestergate but also hankered for the “Good Life” moving to a smallholding near The Hanging Gate, Higher Sutton.

In 2015 I stood as an Independent for the Broken Cross and Upton Ward, doing – well – OK. Then in 2019 I teamed up with my chum Lloyd Roberts and we gave Tytherington a shot. We won both elections: Macclesfield Town Council and Cheshire East! Presently I am Chair of Licensing (CEC) in May 2021, becoming Mayor of the town I truly love, Macclesfield!
