Hi, I’m James Barber-Chadwick your Town Councillor for Macclesfield Central Ward.

As one of your Town Councillors for Macclesfield Central, I’m proud to represent the thousands of residents and businesses across our ward. I was born in Macclesfield and love my home town, which is the best place to live, work and grow up in.
I’m a former Cheshire East Councillor, having been elected as the youngest in the Council’s history back in 2019, and held the role of Champion for Young People – an area of work I’m deeply passionate about. Outside of Politics, I am a charity Trustee and have forged a career within public transport and communications & engagement. 
On the Town Council, I lead our work around White Ribbon, youth engagement and community transport, and I’m also proud to be the youngest Deputy Mayor on record in our Town’s history – a role in which I can give back to the town that I love.

Macclesfield is the Town I’ve spent my life in, and it’s the greatest honour to be given the opportunity to represent thousands of people to ensure your voices are heard and your ideas championed.
