Hi, I’m James Barber your Town Councillor for Macclesfield Central Ward.

Hi, I’m James Barber and I’m one of your Councillors for Macclesfield Central! I live in Macclesfield with my girlfriend and my passions include Football and Formula One.

I’m a former Cheshire East Councillor, having been elected as the youngest in the Council’s history back in 2019, and held the role of Champion for Young People – an area of work I’m deeply passionate about. Outside of Politics, I work as the Public Affairs Officer for the UK’s first sub-national transport body, and have previously held roles including as a Sixth Form Pastoral Assistant at The Fallibroome Academy.

I stood for Town Council this time out because I want to be able to make a real difference to both the ward and the town in which I grew up in, and the Town Council is the best way of bringing our community together as one voice for our wonderful town.

Macclesfield is the Town I’ve spent my life in, and it’s the greatest honour to be given the opportunity to represent thousands of people to ensure your voices are heard and your ideas championed.
