Cheshire Tour Of Britain

The Tour Of Britain comes to Macclesfield 6/9/16

Published on: Friday June 10, 2016

The Tour of Britain will start off in Congleton and then wend its way to Macclesfield on 6th September.

The route takes  across the northern boundary of the town, through Bollington and Rainow and then back into the town down Hurdsfield Rd, down the Silk Road and up Buxton Road to the Cat & Fiddle. It comes back towards town from Bosley and then heads over the canal towards the finish line in Tatton Park just before it gets to Lyme Green.

We need 10 marshals to volunteer to help in the town whilst the race passes through. There will be lots of useful training and information for them and they get to be at the centre of the action. As well as this we are looking at ways of promoting Macclesfield to Visitors and cyclists and would really value any ideas you have to help with this.

We hope that we will be able to get the community of Macclesfield behind this event and support it in any way you can, from decorating your window or street, coming out and cheering them on or coming up with ideas to capitalise for the town on this opportunity.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, please  feel free to call in to our offices in the old Town Hall, call us on 01625 374142 or email me at clerk@macclesfield-tc.gov.uk
