It’s great that we can offer the occasional free parking days in conjunction with Cheshire East Council, but we are aware as a Town Council, that we need to be doing more to encourage people to leave their cars at home.
The Town Council’s Community Transport working group have met with D&G Buses and High Peak and have agreed that for the next two Saturdays (16th and 23rd December) the Town Council will be able to offer free bus travel in Macclesfield. We hope that people will take up this offer, and use the buses to travel into town to support the high street, pick up their Christmas shopping, or visit friends and family locally.
